Cook II/Utility

The Refuge ? A Healing Place, premier residential treatment center, is seeking a full time Cook 2/utility person who has passion for great customer service and the ability to execute it! Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits good cleaning and sanitation skills
  • Assists with service of food to clients
  • Completes clean up and dishwashing duties as assigned
  • Prepares food items in a timely and sanitary matter
  • Follows written and verbal recipes
  • Effectively stocks shelves upon delivery of food items utilizing the FIFO method
  • Maintains clean work area
  • Appropriately operates all kitchen equipment
  • Adheres to all health and safety policies
  • Ensures all activities conform to The Refuge?s standards

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months of experience in?restaurant or insitutional cooking preferred
  • Must have basic knife skills
  • Ability to saut?, braise, grill, and poach food items preferred
  • Ability to perform various physical demands including but not limited to: standing for extended periods of time, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, withstanding hot and cold conditions, bending, knelling, stooping
  • Team oriented and able to work under limited supervision
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen, background and reference checks

 

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
